Prolite® Stretch
Our Prolite® range is about light, comfortable, easy care travel wear.
Prolite® fabric uses a specialised nylon yarn with a “soft cotton touch” which transfers moisture from the skin to keep you comfortable and dry no matter how hot or humid the conditions. The same technology ensures Prolite® dries quickly by spreading the moisture over the widest possible surface area. Cotton or other nylon and polyester fabrics with water-repellent treatments cannot replicate this performance.
Prolite® requires no ironing. After washing creases and wrinkles quickly drop out with wearing. The Fabric contains a UV inhibitor to improve the sun protection factor and the latest nanotechnology to enhance moisture transferring and odour repelling properties.
Prolite® Trousers, Shorts and Skirts use a heavier 140g/m², UPF* 70, stretch fabric. A 6% lycra® content gives you uninhibited freedom and comfort. We have also found from experience the lycra® stabilises the nylon and prevents any uncomfortable static cling. We are now using a new DTY nylon (Draw Texture Yarn) to improve the fabrics pill and abrasion resistance properties.
All the trousers have non pleated flat fronts. The Convertible Trousers have an elastic insert in the waist-band and the Nova, ¾ Nova and Capri pants have adjustable Velcro hip tabs.
The Trouser range is divided by two different design styles, Trousers and Convertibles have a classic high rise (waist fitting) and the Jeans, Capri’s and Nova’s have a more contemporary lower rise (hip fitting). The new Straights have a lower rise and a narrower leg.
All pocket linings use Prolite® fabric to ensure the garment’s overall drying and moisture transfer properties are not compromised. All the trouser styles have either a zip-up passport size pocket on the outside leg or on the inside of the right pocket. The waistbands are finished with bar-tacked belt loops wide enough for 40mm belts.
Prolite® Travel Wear is a durable, easy-care, high performance range, designed to take you to the ends of the earth in comfort and style

I have had these for many years now. I’m coming back for my second (third?) order. I buy the charcoal ones, which are great for looking good and staying cool. I love the stretch. I never like to compromise comfort and fit over looks and with these I don’t have to. Even after years of use I still don’t have to wear a belt with them. The rest of the garment stretches a bit over time and fades a bit, but is definitely still wearable. I just buy a new pair for “good” and continue to use the old ones for casual wear. I prefer the front pocket style of the Prolite Trouser (bigger) but these look smarter. Did I mention they are cool to wear? I live in a hot, dry climate (40+C in summer) and these are perfect. But I can also combine with thermal long johns for winter. If I could have the perfect pants I would also want them to be ember-proof for when I am around the fire, but you can’t have everything and i’m fine with that.

I really like these jeans. I bought two of these approximately 10 years ago to go travelling through Europe. They were the perfect choice. I cut one pair down into shorts (I dont think prolite shorts were available then). They performed amazingly well especially in hot weather (44 degree C temperatures), and they did not make me sweat. The lycra allows them to stretch a little when bending etc making them very very comfortable. I use them as every-day wear, and also use them dancing and they hold up to physical activity superbly even when temperatures are uncomfortably hot. These are definitely my go-to travel and general use trousers. After years of use, the lycra appears to have relaxed, so are a little baggier than when were new. I have never considered this a problem, and as with the classic long sleeve shirt, I would buy again in a heartbeat.
