Fabric waste is inevitable, especially from end-of-rolls and small off-cuts. While we’ve always reused larger pieces, the smaller pieces were a challenge. Years ago, we committed to retain waste and launched projects to repurpose these materials.
Repairing garments is a key part of our New Zealand-made process. We expertly repair wear or damage, including patches, zips, and darning. This extends garment life, reduces environmental impact, and often sees an overjoyed owner whose garment represents treasured memories.

We focus on sourcing the best performance* fabrics, prioritizing quality over price. Through rigorous testing, we ensure our fabrics outlast cheaper alternatives often by 10-20 years. While upfront costs are higher, their longevity reduces overall expense.

We design in-house, drawing on our family’s outdoor experience to create functional, stylish garments. Long before sustainability became a focus, customers told us, in reference to our business model:

As a small, local company, we can quickly turn around production. Earth Sea Sky specialises in performance clothing, not fashion. Our production runs are small and demand-driven, unlike offshore operations with large runs and discounted excess stock.
