As soon as you put this on it feels warm and cozy. Worth adding to your layering kit.

I wore one of these every day for 19 days while hiking the NW and S circuits in Rakiura National Park. The moisture management and next to skin comfort is just incredible, far better than the merino tops I would have worn in the past. Before when I stopped for breaks I’d be rushing to get another layer on, and would notice my back was particularly soaked in sweat. This top seems to wick away my sweat fast enough that even when I am doing intense stop-start activity like climbing a boggy, exposed hill on the southern circuit, I remained comfortable despite the trying conditions. It was around 10ºC every day, with slight breezes, and I feel that was a perfect temperature for this top. Odour was not too bad at the end despite only giving it one quick wash outside a hut, certainly far better than the polypros I used as my hut clothes. I don’t know if washing inside out would help with pilling, but mine is certainly doing that a bit after a few months of wear/washing. Still looks and feels great, and is far, far more durable than wool. No nicks or holes from pack clips/straps! I think I may buy every colour, I love mine so much. Perfect for tramping around NZ in autumn/winter/spring.
