XTR® Thermalite Stretch
A unique blend of 77% nylon, 16% polyester and 7% lycra gives this technical trouser fabric a combination of wind resistance, unrestricted 4X4 stretch and warmth.
The nylon outer has been selected for abrasion resistance and the polyester lining for extra warmth and softness. The outer surface has been treated with a durable water repellent to actively shed water and snow.
XTR Thermalite Stretch is an ideal cold climate travel fabric and is especially suited for climbing, ski mountaineering and winter trekking.

Fantastic pants for ski touring, and especially ski mountaineering. Very comfortable high stretch fabric for unrestricted movement. Feels good next to skin especially when you get hot, and surprisingly warm despite feeling minimal. The minimal design is perfect – who needs more pockets! Boot cuff has sufficient room – easily fits over Atomic Backland boots (lightweight/small) and beefier alpine boots. But the best part – no more pant/harness interface issues!! – the high top of the pants sits well above the top of your harness, and is held up by the suspenders. Would thoroughly recommend these pants for anyone playing in the mountains during winter who is wearing a harness. Thanks ESS

I have used these, or the trouser version (Katipo), in all types of weather, over many weeks in the Australian Alps in winter and ski touring in Norway. Temps ranged from +10 to -30. The XTR material is remarkably wind resistant and surprisingly warm (aided by exped-weight knee-length thermals in Norway). They breathe well when hot/working hard. The garment sheds snow well, although it is definitely not “waterproof” when it’s raining. They are comfortable, and also look more like a “normal garment” than most ski clothes which means you can wear them when travelling or in town. A tough durable item.
