Earth Sea Sky was formed in December 1990 when David teamed up with clothing designer, Sydney Mulligan. Between them they had more than 25 years experience in New Zealand’s outdoor clothing industry. This experience in design, production and sales was used to fill a growing need in the market for outdoor clothing that combined comfort, style and performance. David and Sydney introduced designs and colours that linked function and performance with great fit, attention to detail and fashion. Their first range of 20 garments included tramping jackets, oilskins, waterproof ski wear, 60/40 anorak windshells and Polartec thermal fleeces.
Since then, most of New Zealand’s outdoor clothing brands have taken their production offshore. Earth Sea Sky is committed to remaining New Zealand made. The Ellis family believes this is vital in maintaining the brand’s consistent quality and uniqueness.

Ryan Taylor –
crazy light and durable material. so light I sometimes find it at the bottom of my pack after multiple trips after forgetting I packed it.
I got this shirt 9 years ago and it still looks now. material has not relaxed at all, no button fallen off either.
this year I was fishing in a rainstorm and it was 30C. the sun came out and in less than 5 minutes I was bone dry again due to the material being thin and unable to hold much water.

This would be my second order of this shirt. It is nice to wear, appropriate for field and office, easy to wash, quick to dry, and very travel friendly.

Do you want a lightweight, quick drying shirt that doesn’t smell? I wore this many, many days in a row in a hot and inevitably sweaty environment. It surprised me as to the shirt didn’t seem to take on the sweaty, stinky odour other similar shorts may have. It’s great for sun protection and you can wear it straight from the mountains or desert in to the nice restaurants.

Very effective as a glacier shirt. Breathes and ventilates well to hold off delirium on a sun baked glacier. Wicks moisture well and enough wind resistance that it doesn’t immediately chill you when the sun goes behind a mountain.
