Merino Superfine/Ultrafine
Earth Sea Sky was formed in December 1990 when David teamed up with clothing designer, Sydney Mulligan. Between them they had more than 25 years experience in New Zealand’s outdoor clothing industry. This experience in design, production and sales was used to fill a growing need in the market for outdoor clothing that combined comfort, style and performance. David and Sydney introduced designs and colours that linked function and performance with great fit, attention to detail and fashion. Their first range of 20 garments included tramping jackets, oilskins, waterproof ski wear, 60/40 anorak windshells and Polartec thermal fleeces.
Since then, most of New Zealand’s outdoor clothing brands have taken their production offshore. Earth Sea Sky is committed to remaining New Zealand made. The Ellis family believes this is vital in maintaining the brand’s consistent quality and uniqueness.

So I’m a Yankee…been following ESS for a number of years now (I’m a gear head).
Recently I made a decision to only buy from companies that make products “at home.” ESS does just that. The quality, materials, customer service is second to none.
This Merino Dart is the best shirt I’ve ever worn! Period. If you haven’t tried ESS, you are missing out. Stop buying from China….pay a little more and support good people who make superior products.
Thanks for all you do ESS!

I’m a Yankee…we get wool….but not like this.
I’ve tried the best outdoor brands (Arcteryx, Noronna, etc)…nothing beat ESS. And this is just a shirt!.
I made a substantial commitment to move away from purchases from certain places with labor practices I find distasteful. I had know about ESS for a few years but this year I decided to go all in.
The materials, the quality…all top notch. Just wish I didn’t live a world away from a real home grown manufacturer. Kudos…and please don’t change.

I recently purchase two Dart Merino Tees.
Mainly for layering in winer but also to use a a single layer when I travel soon to Asia. These are exactly what I was looking for, a fine light weight layer and a much better body fit than I’ve ever had with other brands. I’m not a fan of cotton tees or other synthetic fabrics, but prefer Merino day to day. Very impressed.
