Best cap ever, first one lasted over 15 years of climbing, skitouring and mountaineering. Fits easily under a helmet, brim flips up out of the way so you can see upwards when you climb. If it’s hot drop in water and the brim sucks it up for later. The back folds up under the cap for days in civilisation. I live in Europe nowadays and there’s nothing to compare to this small but essential bit of kit

Essentail for the NZ sun
This cap comes everywhere with me now. Great for kayaking, climbing, tramping, and generally being sunsmart. Fits under helmets, hoods etc super easy, and the back folds away when you want to look a little less… Practical? Scrunch it up, wash it, it comes back for more

My initial thought after getting this cap from Earth Sea Sky was, why didn’t I get one of these sooner! It’s lightweight and so good for keeping the sun off! I conjunction with the Contour Long Sleeve Shirt it got a lot of use on the Mongol Rally – especially inside the car to try and get some respite from the harsh desert sun in our mobile glasshouse (actually a Suzuki Wakon R with no air conditioning. The effect was the same). It’s brilliant under helmets and being able to flick the peak up or down is very useful. You can tighten it up at the back which I found handy out jetboating the other day – tightened it right up to stop it blowing off my head. I’ve used it tramping, climbing, cycling, boating and touristing and it’s right at home in all those environments.

Must have for summer. I was over being sunburned, I’m kicking myself for not getting one last summer.
The neoprene brim is amazing, perfect length to keep sun off my eyes and small enough so not get in the way. I take this thing running, fishing, kayaking and work. It comes everywhere, no more sore sunburned necks, they suck.
I used to think these hats might look a bit weird… yeah, nah. if you work outdoors. it’s a no brainer.
