These are excellent quality shorts. I couldn’t speak more highly of a product. I wore two pairs of these shorts for ten months and 9000km of hiking. They were the only pants I wore for that entire time and they with stood it all.

Good shorts, have worn constantly for the last 3 months except when washing. Sweet as for kayaking, work, hanging out, rock climbing and running around. However, these are not fire resistant, the zipper has broken and the odd stitch has gone. Ordering a second set to spread the load.

These shorts are great. Tough enough to climb in, windproof, water resistant, quick dry, and comfy to wear with a harness and/or pack on. The belt is handy and easy to use, while the pockets are large enough to fit a whole TIME magazine folded in half, and the zip pocket is great for keeping stuff safe. Cool enough, yet wind and rain resistant enough for a Wellington summer.

If you’re after something a bit longer than the Taslan shorts, but with the same stout toughness, then the fast-track are for you. Simple but solid belt system and the constant solid ESS construction. They do everything and are very tidy shorts.

I love fast track shorts. They have a smart, functional and durable design. They’re the perfect complement to the shorter taslan shorts for when you want something a little longer in the leg. Will be buying again – not as a replacement, because they’ll probably never die – but to try out some other cool colours.
